2020 Arctic Cat Snowmobiles

Arctic Cat was originally formed in 1960. They have been around for decades and decades of fresh powder and find better ways each year to ride the hills, mountains and trails.

This year they have expanded their recently technology (the monorail) to all of their sleds. Last year, 2019, the Alpha One was the only sled to have this single rail in the center of the track that allowed riders to have more control over of their movements.

We still have the Alpha, the Mountain Cat, and the Hardcore sleds to pick from. All three available options have this monorail. Unlike traditional slide rail suspension designs that have two parallel rails positioned on the outer portion of a track, the one single aluminum beam positioned in the center of the track allows the track significantly more flexibility to conform with the snow. It’s similar to Arctic Cat’s SVX 450 snow bike suspension (and the Camso DTS 129” snow bike kit) which like these, supports the entire rear of the machine on a single center mounted monorail. Arctic Cat holds the patent on the single rail design.

What Are the Differences Between the Arctic Cat 2020 Sleds?

All three of these models have the optional electric or pull start. All three of these have the single beam suspension. So what are some of the difference? How does someone decide which one is best for them?

A few main differences:

The Hardcore Arctic Cat snowmobile is built for extreme use. Its build is stronger and sturdier. Look at the difference in the running boards when comparing a 2020 Alpha Mountain Cat and a 2020 Hardcore sled. The Hardcore running boards have an extra layer of support.

The Hardcore is ready for hard landings and extreme conditions. While the Mountain Cat is a sled built for anyone and every activity, if you are looking to really throw some powder and not have to worry about whether your sled can take it or not, the Hardcore was built for you.

Let's take a look at the suspension differences between the two.

The Hardcore has coil suspension while the Mountain Cat has the regular air shocks suspension setup. The Hardcore, once again, is equipped for those (if you will) "hardcore" scenarios.
