Decades ago, when Wooldridge introduced the Xtra Plus, it immediately earned recognition as the tough guy in the fleet. An outboard jet boat, with the exclusive Wooldridge jet tunnel, that could run shallower, turn harder and withstand the brutal outdoor on-the-water environment with nary a whimper.
That’s why it was natural for Wooldridge to select the Xtra Plus for the basis of a new design and expanded role for those who get well off the beaten course.
The Wooldridge XP (as it is now known) comes standard with a wider bottom (6’), a broader bow, a walk-around gunnel design with non-skid and stand-up toe kick. There’s more room, easier access and (still) that ultra-tough .190” bottom.
That’s where the story just begins with the new Wooldridge XP outboard jet model.
Wooldridge has designed the XP in a modular fashion so boaters can select an optional wider bottom (7’) and/or a thicker bottom of .250” or .440” (3/16” doubler between the center structure rails). Those who need the ultimate in toughness and protection from the most challenging on-the-water conditions can select the XP 440 package. That’s the ultimate in hull protection, with more than a double hull thickness between the center structure rails.
Of course the XP is available with the wide two-piece walk through windshield or as an open boat with console or tiller steer. Lengths range from 17’ to 25’.
This outboard jet model features the exclusive Wooldridge jet tunnel for shallower running and superior handling. The tunnel acts as a skeg, enhancing traction in turns and the ability of this jet boat to maneuver through obstacle laden shallows. The tunnel flows clean water to the jet, directing “clean” water in for maximum driving force. The Wooldridge tunnel also moves the jet foot up out of harm’s way for less exposure to shallow water rocks.
Easy to tow and easy to launch, Wooldridge has engineered strength without unnecessary weight into the XP. That translates into less power required for the tow rig and at the marina, whether you are powering with four stroke jet power or direct injection two strokes.
Refined through four generations of superior boat building, rest assured that all Wooldridge boats come with a lifetime limited hull warranty for the original owner.
